Regulatory and Professional Bodies


British Video Association,
The BVA represents the interests of both publishers and rights owners of pre-recorded video entertainment and was established 30 years ago for this reason. To this day, around 8,000 titles are released every single year in the UK and these are on either DVD, Blue-ray discs and even 3D blu-ray discs.
Film Distributors Association,
The FDA is basically the trade body for theatrical film distributors in the UK, this is the companies which release films for a cinema audience of people in the UK.
Video Standards Council (VSC), 
The VCS is a non-profit making body which has been set up to develop and oversee a COP (Code of Practice) design to promote high standards within th evideo industry and was established in 1989. 
Trading Standards

 Press Complaints Commission (PCC),
The PCC does  primarily deals with complaints. Its an independent body which administers the system of self-regulation for the press. it delas with the complaints which are framed in the terms of the Editors COP, about the editorial content of newspapers and magazines and the condust of journolists.
Advertising Standards Authority (ASA),
TheASA is an independant regulator of an advertising across all kinda of media and this includes marketing on websites. Thje ASA work tio ensure that all advertisment is legal, appropriate, honest and truthful.
The Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF),
The MEF is the global community for mobile commerce and content. MEF
is the main leading trade organisation for companies who wish to monetize their goods. Also their services and even digital products via the mobiles connected device
The Independent Games Developers Association (IGDA),


The IGDA is the worlds largest non-profit membership organisation which serves the individuals who create video games.
British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA),

The BAFTA is the worlds largest independent charity which supports the developement and promotion of the art forms of the moving image in the UK. this can be from films, TV,interactive media and even video games.
Commercial Radio Companies Association (CRCA)

The CRCA is a department which is responsible for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games and they also help drive the Digital Economy. Their aim is to improve the quality of life thrpugh several things such as cultural and sporting activities and also to pursuit of excellence and to champion the tourism, creative and leisure industries.
The International Visual Communication Association (IVCA),

The IVCAis an informal association of volunteer amateur radio enthusiasts who have a high interest in visual communication known as slow scan television or SSTV.
Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C),

The W3C is an international community where member organizations, a full-time staff and the public workr together to develope web standards
